CENTREPIN REEL REPLACEMENT BEARINGS

Our in-stock bearings are OEM (original equipment manufacturer) where available or higher quality, and in a bearing class of ABEC 3 or higher depending on application. We carefully select all bearings to insure smooth running, low-torque start-up and smooth spin of your centerpin. In "our opinion" and in cases noticed over the years, it's the outer bearing which usually obtains the most wear and load while fishing and batting of the reel's drum, as opposed to the inner back-plate side bearing. Lack of performance-spin of your center pin reel may be due to this bearing needing replacing and showing most wear due to rust-pitted balls and ring surfaces resulting from the harsh elements and the reel sitting for longer periods of time not being used.

A quick performance-test for any wear may be achieved without the bearings being removal from the spool housing., by simply separating the reel's spool from the back-plate(if able). Once the bearing(s) inner rings are visible in each side of the spool, begin by just placing the sharpened end of a pencil snug in the inner ring of each bearing, and while holding the spool or bearing (if completely removed from the spool housing) slowly rotating the pencil back and forth to get the rings moving on the steel balls and simultaneously paying close attention to any excessive noise, rumbling, and and any other slightest resistance being felt with your hand while the races are in motion. If anything as described is felt it may be detering low-torque spin of your reel prompting replacement(s).

ADCOCK STANTON-MODELS 4.5" -and- 5" CENTREPIN REELS
All stainless steel, Abec 5, dual shields, lube with light lithium grease. Note: Early model stanton center pins were manufactured utilizing a 3/16" overall diameter bearing spindle, as opposed to the later models which had an upgraded 1/4" OD spindle. Separation of the spool from the back-plate is recommended for a correct assessment prior to ordering.

SINGER SEWING MACHINE OIL

Singer oil is a blend of very thin and light colored oils. Its lubricant characteristics and adhesive properties are unmatched in quality, allow better penetration, polishing of metals, and lubrication for longer periods than common oils. Sewing machine oil is highly recommended by most centerpin reel manufacturers including JW Young & Son's as their lube of choice for the proper maintenance of roller bearings and mechanisms in their centerpins.

KINGPIN NEOPRENE REEL CASE

Wrap you old or new model kingpin with one of these branded and slick pouches. Made of 5mm thick, high quality neoprene and adorned with the Kingpin logo on one side and a Made in England logo on the other. The pouch has an oversized Velcro strap to ensure it stays fastened and protected whilst on or off the rod from the elements. They are offered in black and in two sizes: Small (fit kingpin 378 model or 3.5"/4.0" reels) and Medium/Large (fit kingpin 450 & 478 models or 4.5"/5.0" reels)

BARE SUPRA REEL CASE

Black neoprene protective case for your centerpin reel during transport, both on or off the rod.. Vertical split for ease of use. Works with any rod & reel combination and pre-tested for best-fit as indicated. Medium fits rod utilizing a 2.5”- 4.0” reel and large fits rod with 4.5”- 5.5” reel.

CHOTA STL + BOOT REPLACEMENT CLEAT KIT

Not to be confused with ordinary sheet metal screws, Chota STL cleats are case hardened steel and feature a specially designed head that is dished out to form two semi-circular, deep biting blades. Special "anti-back out grooves" on the flange keeps the cleats securely seated to the cleat base. (Required tool: ¼" nut driver.) Thread-length is 1 / 2" deep.

Note: Where felt-sole height allows, some steelheaders screw cleats directly on the felt-botom of regular non-studded boots, providing excellent results for traction, including long life. Exercise caution though and measure sole height twice.

REPLACEMENT FELT KIT FOR All WADING BOOTS

Offered by Chota, for their Abrams Creek Boot, However these felt soles work with most all felt-bottom wading boots. Dark gray polypropylene felt kit comes with two die-cut soles and heels. Trimming is necessary around the edges for best fit. Available in 2 sizes fits-all, men's 9 and smaller (medium selection) men's 10 through 14 (large selection). Glue not included.

QUICK LACE KIT

Includes instructions and all of the parts needed to replace The Quicklace™ System on one pair of Chota boots. Kit is also suitable for most all other types of lace-up wading or outdoor boots as well. Each shock cord lace measures 32" long.
